What is the Relationship Between Eden ƒractal, Eden, and Eden On EOS?
The Eden community is a community of people working to help empower each other, create value for EOS, and provide education & tooling to empower communities with true democracy. The Eden community began sometime in the spring of 2021 and it may be considered that the Eden community began with the launch of More Equal Animals, a foundational book for the Eden community, in January of 2021. The Eden community held it’s first trial Eden Election in May of 2021. Since then, the Eden community has hosted 4 more Eden elections, 10 Eden ƒractal events, and hundreds of events/videos with Eden members.
Eden On EOS is a smart organization that held it’s first official election on October 8th, 2021. Since then, the Eden On EOS organization has hosted 3 official Eden Elections. You can learn more about Eden On EOS in the
Eden ƒractal is a DAO formed by Eden community members in June 2022. Eden ƒractal aims to help EOS & Eden to empower communities. You can learn the true definition of a DAO is in this article by the ƒractally team, which helps explain some of the unique aspects of Eden ƒractal. The Eden ƒractal community provides public goods for the benefit of the EOS and Eden community.
Eden ƒractal and Eden On EOS operate independently of each other. Each provides a mechanism to provide public goods for the benefit of EOS and Eden, as well as provide education for the future of true democracy with the principles outlined in More Equal Animals.
Eden ƒractal and Eden On EOS can be considered as two independent organizations of the broader Eden community. In addition to fostering public goods for EOS and helping each other, Eden ƒractal and Eden On EOS offer two helpful main products/services to the world: the Eden ƒractal process and the Eden election process.
The Distinction Between The Eden Community and Eden On EOS
It may be helpful to note a distinction between the Eden community and the Eden On EOS community. In many ways these communities are overlapping and they are often conflated, but it is possible to be a member of the Eden community without being a member inducted into Eden on EOS.
Anyone can join the Eden community by attending community events that do not require induction into the original Eden On EOS community, such as Eden ƒractal meetings and Eden Town Halls.

Is Eden On EOS a Public Good?
Can an organization be a public good?
We believe that Eden On EOS is providing profoundly helpful public goods for the EOS community and everyone in the world.
It has been said that Eden on EOS is not a public good because it is an exclusionary club. It is true that the Eden on EOS community hosts quarterly election events that are exclusionary to some extent because only members who have been inducted are allowed to participate. In practice the requirements of a 3 EOS fee and gathering 3 members to witness an induction is very low. As far as we are aware, nobody who has ever wanted to join Eden has been excluded from joining.
We’ll share much more about how Eden On EOS provides public goods for EOS soon. In the meantime, it’s important to remember that Eden On EOS is a seperate entity from both the Eden community and Eden ƒractal. The membership of Eden On EOS greatly overlaps with the membership of the Eden Community and Eden ƒractal, but there are members of the Eden Community and Eden ƒractal that are not members of Eden On EOS.
While Eden On EOS provides some exclusive services to Eden On EOS members, the Eden Community and Eden ƒractal are open for anyone to join, participate, and enjoy.
