Eden is for retroactive public goods funding.

Another thing to add here:

All CDs have been working without pay for EOS for years. Even if a delegate decided to take it as pay and go on vacation, that would be ok. Even if they said that they’d do something else that is more productive for their funding and then they decide to go on vacation instead, that’s ok too.

Even if the CDs haven’t been working without pay for EOS, then it should be ok too.

We should rethink Eden

Eden election disbursement is retroactive public goods funding based upon prior reputation/respect.

Eden on EOS is not built on promises

Mike Manfredi, myself, and others spoke about how the Eden Elections are based on promises of what each delegate will do with the funding in the future.

But that’s not how it should be.

We should change our mindset about Eden.

Eden rewards retroactive public goods funding with no

Funding Eden Delegates is an act of natural giving from the community to their respected members.

Funding Eden delegates is a way that the EOS community respects eden builders

Giving should not be with expectations or obligations

If people promise that they’ll do a bunch of good things with the funding then that’s their prerogative, but our voting decisions should be based upon past work, reputation, and respect without future dependencies or obligations regarding the promises made.

We should understand and respect the fact that people change their minds.

We should see Eden as a way to respect past contributions
