Overview
Optimism Fractal is a new community dedicated to awarding public goods creators, fostering collaboration, and growing Optimism!
Optimism Fractal features an innovative consensus game where community members rank each other’s contributions to Optimism during weekly meetings and earn respect for helping the collective. We call this the Respect Game. In addition to being super fun and a wonderful way to meet amazing people, this consensus game has proven to be profoundly helpful in empowering communities to create public goods, foster meaningful collaborations, and coordinate for mutual benefit.
All optimists are welcome to join Optimism Fractal weekly events every Monday at 17 UTC. These meetings provides a great place where you can have fun while networking with amazing creators and earn Respect by sharing what you’ve done to help the Optimism Collective. Optimism Fractal is deeply aligned with the Optimistic Vision of rewarding helpful work with retroactive public goods funding and the axiom of Impact = Profit to create a sustainable future for all.

The Sprouting of Optimism Fractal
Optimism Fractal is inspired by Eden Fractal and Fractally, trailblazing communities of brilliant innovators that have been perfecting processes for community cooperation for over two years. After months of development, the creators of Eden Fractal started Optimism Fractal to foster public goods, promote collaboration, and grow communities with Optimism.
We’ve been avidly focused on retroactive public goods funding and improving governance for years, so we became fascinated when we discovered Optimism. We created a grant proposal that outlined plans to start Optimism Fractal in August and followed up with an addendum of more details for the reviewers of the Optimism Grants Council. We discussed our progress and shared educational content with community members in Eden Fractal meeting each week, then produced awesome videos and created comprehensive show notes about each meeting to help everyone enjoy the benefits of Optimism.
You can follow the epic journey and see how Optimism Fractal emerged by exploring show notes for the 66th, 67th, 68th, and 69th episodes of Eden Fractal. In the past few months, talented developers from Eden Fractal have built tools that enable anyone to grow their community with social consensus games, fractal collaboration, unprecedented independence on Optimism. This includes a set of smart contracts, web app, and intuitive app called Fractalgram where players can play consensus games on leading computing platforms like the EVM and OP Stack. This sets the stage for the next step in the evolution of human collaboration, powered by Optimism.
We believe that Optimism provides an ideal environment to foster the growth of fractal communities and are stoked about how Optimism Fractal can create profound benefits by helping countless communities to grow with Optimism. What is Optimism?
We’re working with an exciting Ethereum L2 community called Optimism that is highly aligned with our goals of funding public goods and coordinating humanity for everyone’s benefit. The Optimism Collective is pioneering a fascinating bicameral governance system focused on rewarding positive impact with profit, building a Superchain with some of the most world’s most successful companies (including OpenAI and Coinbase), and running the world’s largest system for retroactive public goods funding (RetroPGF). The first rounds of RetroPGF have been highly acclaimed by many brilliant thought leaders (including Vitalik Buterin) and they just started Round 3 to fund public goods creators with 30 million OP.
