Pending Respect
- Technical implementation of ‘pending respect’
- 5% withdrawal per week
- Page 17 of the whitepaper
- This is an important feature that attracts me and other greatly to Fractally and Eden fractal.
- If the Eden tokens become transferrable and worth a lot, then it becomes risky for both individuals and community as a whole if all of that gets taken, stolen, traded, etc.
- 5% weekly is a super helpful feature

Create a new page for pending respect. Add to the notes with Vlad about how the pending respect is also helpful and very important because it gives the community to express their opinions about people who are selling the respect of the community and two way governance right allocation appropriately. It also provides is kind of a safeguard or bumper lien to reduce potential drama and the misalignment in the community. For example, I suppose if somebody with a relatively high amount of respect that mad with the community and they decided to sell all of their respect instantly. This would be bad in the first place for the community to crash the price and also create a drama about it and also prices tend to make people focus on the price more often, whereas one price is not in the discussion than it provides space and room for other discussions to flourish. So that in itself is really important and I think that if it has had a huge impact on the culture of Eden Fractal so far where we can focus on our work rather than book people focusing on discussions about price.
And going back to the prior point, if somebody did decide to sell all of the Respect at once in a week and then this would be instant and the community would not have any chance to kind of defended self so to speak. For one thing, if the person is truly acting crazy or is acting in a way where it seems like they’re compelled by somebody else or some thing, then the community could decide to remove the persons respect so they can’t just sell it. Or in another example, the community could decide to vote that person with less respect at future meetings, if the person isn’t able to sell all the respect in one week and they are also perhaps more incentivized to keep participating in weekly meetings, and if somebody is selling then each week that could be on chain in public and that could be a metric by which to determine how to allocate respect and Governance rates.
There is also necessarily a lag time between The amount of governance rates that somebody has in the amount that they can sell. So they would be a big misalignment of incentives if somebody could sell all of their tokens but still have governance rights. I mean I could be helpful and some situation is but in general that’s a big misalignment because the person who just sold all of their tokens for some reason would be and still having significant governing power which isn’t necessarily beneficial for the community
