Feedback about Cagendas that Inspired Vlalendas
This agenda system takes into account the feedback that Vlad and Jessie shared about Cagendas during the Eden Fractal Brainstorming Session this week.
Two of the main issues they raised about the Cagendas proposal were that it would be better to enable community members to vote on agenda items during the week before the meeting and that it would be better to have more flexible times to accommodate for shorter or longer discussions. It’s also similar to Vlad’s proposal from a few weeks ago, which you can read below. As the creator of Consortium, Vlad has great insights about how this tool can be used to help communities organize time.
Here is feedback from Jesse and Vlad in this week’s week’s brainstorming session. It is saved in the Mindmap, which you can see here.
Here is the video where we discussed this in more detail:
Thank you Vlad.
Regarding 2, I think that time for questions and answers could be allocated with Cagendas. For example, if someone presents a proposal and people want to ask them questions for 10 minutes, then the community can vote for two additional time slots after their presentation for Q & A.
Regarding 3, I agree that there are benefits to submitting proposals and votes during the week prior to the meeting. There are also benefits to doing it all in real-time and I’m yet not sure what’s best for the community discussions in the hour after the breakout room. I like the simplicity and spontaneity of doing it in real time… and I like the preparedness and deliberative of doing it in advance. If we do all voting and proposals in advance then I think this would require some more questions to be answered…
I’ll write more about this soon. I’m also thinking about playing Cagendas during the Town Hall and we can experiment with different versions to see what works best…
